The Collection Wall – An eyecatcher in the atrium
The Collection Wall in the atrium, where admission is free, immediately catches the eye of every visitor to Kunsthalle Mannheim. It consists of 16 large, interconnected monitors that resemble a billboard and are equipped with an innovative gesture function. This digital tool enables visitors to discover and explore the Mannheim collection for themselves. Currently, more than 1,100 artworks can be accessed via the Wall. In the long term, the entire collection will be digitised. Each work of art can be called up on the Collection Wall with a simple swipe. The picture is not all that is displayed; visitors can also read the most important information about the work and its current location in the museum - or in the depot.
The Collection Wall was developed by Kunsthalle Mannheim together with its digital partner Klangerfinder GmbH & Co KG with generous support from the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung gGmbH and MFG Baden-Württemberg mbH.
